Manchester United's 6.5 million new signings have been set on the arrival date! A position is no longer recruited, and it is useless for the titans to recommend themselves

According to reports, Diego León will travel to England on July 1 to officially join Manchester United for a pre-season training camp. The 18-year-old Paraguayan left-back had already confirmed his arrival in January, but he would have to wait until his 18th birthday to complete an international transfer. After reaching the age standard in April, he will now complete the transfer and his contract will run until June 2030.

Manchester United spent £6.5 million to sign Leão from Portno Hills for a fixed fee of £3.2 million, plus a £3.3 million floating clause. He has already passed the medical examination and signed a contract, so he only needs to complete the registration and join directly this summer.

The Paraguayan Under-20 player, who does not look like an 18-year-old boy at all, has attracted the attention of European clubs with his excellent athleticism and advanced physical condition. He had enough intensity to dribble into the final third and although he was a left wing-back, he scored three goals for Portno Hills.

León grew up in Iguaçu, Paraguay, near the border between Argentina and Brazil, with the iconic Iguazu Falls. Like many young South American footballers, León struggled to make ends meet and had no money to buy a soccer ball.

His mother, Brigida Blanco, recalled: "We didn't have the money to buy a ball for Diego [León], so he would grab a piece of cloth and roll it up to kick it. He always said, 'One day I'm going to play for the Portno hills!' Now he really does."

León joined the Portno Hills Academy at the age of 14 and was called up to make his debut in the first team last year. Within weeks of playing his first game, he was named one of the top 10 best full-backs under the age of 21 by the CIES Football Observatory and joined Manchester United. Arsenal were the first to negotiate, but the Red Devils came out on top and negotiated a transfer fee.

With Leon's arrival, United will have as many as five left-backs, Luke Shaw, Tyrell Malacia, Harry Armas and Patrick Dolgu, who was brought in after Amorim took over. The club will be looking to sell 25-year-old Dutch left-back Malacia, who joined PSV Eindhoven on loan in the second half of last season, after the Eredivisie triumph rejected a €10 million buyout, and the first signing of Ten Hag did not get much playing time.

Even if Malacia are sold, the four-man left-back position for Manchester United will be one of the positions that will certainly not be brought in the summer window. So, even if Brighton's Ecuadorian left-back Pervis Estupiñán offers himself to join the Red Devils, there will be no chance of joining the Reds this summer.

Estupiñán joined Brighton from Villarreal in 2022 and scored two goals in 30 Premier League appearances last season. Former Manchester United chief scout Mike Brown has confirmed that the 27-year-old left-hand striker is interested in leaving the 'Seagulls' and his agent is looking for a home to sell himself to Manchester United. Brown said: "Estupiñán wants to leave Brighton and his agent has already revealed his transfer information to a number of clubs and as far as I know, he wants to join Manchester United.

But unless United can find a home to bring in Luke Shaw, they will not be able to buy a new left-back, which is one of the lowest positions in the team's recruitment order. With Luke Shaw suffering from many injuries, no team will want to bring in Carlos Bria, who will turn 30 this summer, has two years left on his contract with the Red Devils.
